Thru the kitchen window

Just cleaned and refreshed the birdbath. they must've been watching ( waxeyes). although a mite chilly for bathing. I must figure out a self filling birdbath, seems I'm always out there replenishing the water.

I put up a blackbird on the 3rd of Sept, today i noticed a blackbird bouncing around the backyard with one wing hanging down, so either broken or dislocated, I tried to catch him but boy these guys can move on their feet, and once he gets in the undergrowth they manage to elude capture very well, at least from the humans or at least this human. anyway called bird rescue and they came to get him, luckily for us, not for him he fell into my water feature and we were able to get him, So now I hope he will survive and not become cat fodder. I've asked them to phone me about its progress.

They sent me a text, the birds wing is broken, they administered a painkiller and it will be taken to a vet tomorrow. :-( very sad outcome as no doubt the bird will be euthaniased, very sad at the news.
