Open Monument's day
I've just sent an email offering to become a volunteer for guiding in this building and its gardens, we'll see if it is possible :-)
It was Open Monuments Day today and this manor (Landgoed Mattemburgh built in the 1840s) is just a ten minutes drive from our house. Although DJ has lived in this region from his tenth year onwards he had never been inside, neither had I, so we took advantage of the Open Day to have a look. There was a most interesting bathtub-like sink with swan-shaped taps in the conservatory, I really would like to know more about that (maybe to bathe the dogs? see extra) ! Because of the Open Day there were many stalls in the garden, there is also a restaurant in the Orangerie which we must try out one of these days ! Today it was all too busy for our taste ;-) The gardens are quite vast and interesting and have everyhing from manicured lawns and flower beds to woody wilderness. See another extra for some of that with an eye twisting reflection.
Which brings me to the Abstract Thursday Challenge, thank you so much for another Thursday collection of great entries. This coming Thursday the optional theme is 'eyetwisting' , have lots of fun with that :-)
The tag will be AT168 !
Here is the list of last Thursday's specials:
Dollykgray for an icm image with the coolest colours
J4net for seeing an abstract from her car window after a night shift
RavensRoost for a concrete abstract
Gordo for a warm red shape mono
Hotmandarins for a flipped building with reflection abstract
Thanks again for your entries and thanks for your kind comments and stars for yesterday's vintage tractors :-)
