Parterre at its best

I Blipped the parterre on 18th June when the garden volunteers were planing the 6500 bedding plants. Now the rich purple makes a good background the the low growing yellow flowers and the scarlet shows up on the central mound. The hot dry weather affected the grass, turning it brown, but it has recovered to a large extent now. The flower beds were watered but the grass was not.
