How to survive in an unexpected situation

As reported, Japan was hit by 2 enormous natural disasters, thphoon and tsunami.

I live in my house by myself, so I should take care of myself in an emergency time. For example, to prepare the terrible situation as no supply of water and electricity, I need water and battery and an emergency lamp and the food of 3 days.

I have bough these meals, so I feel relieved a little. Added, I should buy alfa rice and canned bread.
