Brass Bands At Their Best

I've been to Birmingham's Symphony Hall with fellow band members to listen to 19 of the finest brass bands in the world at the British Open competition. It was won by the Cory band of South Wales with Switzerland's Valasia second followed by the Brighouse & Rastrick Band, famous for the chart-topping Floral Dance some of you may recall, with Norway's Eikanger-Bjorskvik Musikklag in fourth. 

A chance to catch up with old friends, a couple of beverages and a feast of brass band music made for a very good day indeed.
