Believe it Or Not
This piece of work is made entirely using toothpicks by a very clever and patient person in Vietnam! It is part of the Ripley's Believe It Or Not exhibition which is currently on display in Wafi. We were there for lunch and to show two relatively-new people to Dubai its wonders. They were suitably impressed!
So, today, after attending EBCI for nearly ten years, we were both welcomed as Associate Members. G is taking on a position of responsibility for Awana and had to formalise her commitment. The announcement was made right at the end of the service and five people in all were called up to the front. We then had, what seemed like the entire congregation, come up and shake our hands and welcome us!
Two of those people were Gary and Cecilia who we ended up having lunch with. The conversation started when Gary found out we are interested in astronomy.
It's felt like Friday all day, so I was surprised to get a message from Volvo that they've found out what the initial problem is: the alternator is not receiving any power, so the next step is to check the wiring for where it has gone wrong. I'm glad it isn't anything more major and hope this isn't more complex than it sounds.
And G has finally had to have her Windows phone OS upgraded to Windows 10 mobile. There are too many things not working, the camera being the most important. ;) (Joking!)
