'tis the season?

Did a quick walk through an arts and crafts festival with the idea of taking pictures of the artisans and their wares. It was fun chatting up people and finding out when they got into their craft, why and how they sustain their energy.

My favorite of all, was this guy, Vince, who makes toys under the label of "Grandpa's Wooden Toys." He picked up the trade after he retired and took a woodworking class. He started with full-sized furniture but quickly realized there would be a logistics issue with that. So he decided to make toys for his eight grandkids. Then his grandkids' friends wanted the same type of toys and 10 years later, he's supplementing his income with what started out as a hobby.

He was the sweetest and most completely unassuming guy ever. Who wouldn't want a grandpa like that? :)
