Two places at once
was impossible so as I needed shopping in Blyth that's where we went
(for a change) The alternative was to see the Dog Oscars at Tynemouth.
The ship The Williams is near completion.We have seen it before but never been onboard.However we were too early for that and also too early to see its important visitor.
Archbishop Sentamu of York was visiting at lunchtime.
The original ship was built by Captain W.Smith who was born in
Seaton Sluice.
Antarctica was discovered by him 200 years ago but because he didn't register it in the correct way he didn't get the recognition.
This replica and the local crew will recreate the expedition in August 2019.
