Tour of Britain in Cumbria
I know very little about these Cycling events. I don't know anything about the teams, the individual cyclists, how they get points or how they decide on winners. I have no interest in watching it on the TV.
BUT
To go and actually witness first hand the spectacle of such an event is amazing. The motorbikes, the support cars, the helicopter, everything. All make it an exciting thing to watch, even when you haven't a clue what is going on.
Gordon chose to watch at the wonderfully named Fangs Brow, above Loweswater and what a great place it was. There were only a few people, the cyclists were a little slower as they reached the top of a steep hill . . . and the magnificent backdrop of the hills. It was even a pleasure waiting around in this place . . . and then the sun came out.
I liked this picture the best, but in extras I have a picture of some of Team Sky, although we haven't been able to identify who there is.
