On location
The students from Marsden Heights who are researching the Pendle Witches are on a residential weekend away to explore the myth/stories more. They spent the morning making creative responses to their findings with artist Kerris, designing temporary installations in the woods, and making mini witches from natural and found materials.
In the afternoon we took a trip out with local historian Simon Entwistle, visiting the supposed site of Malkin Tower in Barley, and a statue of one of the witches Alice Nutter in her home town. Alice Nutter was quite wealthy, and we visited her location of her home to see it too (and grab a quick group photo).
