Nana Said I Could ...

We've had a super day looking after our grandson Rory. His mum (our daughter#1) and dad were otherwise engaged having lunch at Raymond Blanc's Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons. They are members of a very successful it seems pub quiz team which every year spends its huge winnings on a very posh and expensive meal. They were able this year to have a walk around the gardens, and watched some other guests (probably regulars) arrive by helicopter.

We collected Rory from them at Oxford M40 Services and took him for lunch at Witney Pizza Express using our 2 for 1 voucher. He was quite happy to come with us as his mum had told him they were going for lunch to a restaurant which (i) only served salad and (ii) didn't like children. He was worried though about who would pay for his lunch if they weren't there, so they gave him a £10 note. We let him spend that in a bookshop.

Sorry about my lack of comments on other journals recently. I have a lot of catching up to do.
