Carting bales......

A busy day of ups and downs.
Was onto plan C by 8am and things didn’t get better !
The farm I baled wheat straw at on Sunday wanted the fields cleared so they could plough them to sow winter barley , so had to abandon all other thoughts of combining and go to that job. Got 3 trailers going and had them all home by tonight. Will need to have a word with the council who are wasting money replacing kerb stones and laying a new pavement while the road it runs along is in a hell of a state. By tonight I am walking like John Wayne again !
On the up side , I managed to get yesterday’s problem calf to suck it’s mother at last, on the down side a different cow with mastitis. And the herd who came for the job interview yesterday has decided to stay where he is, so it’s back to the drawing board again !
This big load of bales is the contractor clearing the field next to the one we did. I had thought when he baled it on Sunday that I was getting those bales too , but obviously not. Will now need to try and find some more straw closer to home, which may prove a challenge.
