Day 8

Ollie much happier today, so I gave his a small breakfast, and all his medication, and managed to keep them down, thank goodness!

First stop today was Machynlleth, where we found a great shop full of old and interesting bits and pieces.  We were there for ages, and could have stayed there longer. John Martyn was playing in the background - which was another reason for lingering!  We bought a few nice bits and  pieces, I was tempted by so many things!

Next stop Corris, and a fascinating railway museum and the most wonderful model railway. At the press of a button the little train goes along to one end of the display and then back again.  So much detail!  It is a real joy to see.  I can quite understand the attraction of making this sort of model, the buildings, all the scenery, getting it all as realistic as possible.  Well worth a visit!

We parked up at a super site at Torrent Walk.  It was perfect, clean, friendly, ducks, horses and lots of space. Ollie managed a woodland walk along the river with Mike and me.  Torrent sums it up very well!  A magnificent sight, lots of white water and waterfalls, powerful and wonderful.  Spotted several interesting fungi in the woodland too.

Back at the van we sat with a glass or two of wine and read as the day faded away.  Ollie lay on the grass and slept.  He does a lot of that these days, but he seemed much more his old self.  All in all, a lovely day.

Seems it is one to celebrate too!
