Bayeux Cathedral

Consecrated in 1077, substantially rebuilt in the 13th century in the Gothic style.  The Bayeux tapestry was kept in the cathedral from the 11th to 18th century, initially hanging on the cathedral walls.

My favourite French cathedral.   

The town of Bayeux was not damaged during World War II, and was captured by British troops the day after D-Day.
