St Mary's. Holm
Another sunny day, and a fine breeze, so an excellent washing day. I pegged out a line full before lunch and brought it in early evening, after work. It was dry and smelt that wonderful way that washing does when it's been dried outside.
All this I find pleasing and have been mulling it over, after a conversation with a (male) friend yesterday. He said that if there's a good drying wind, he puts the washing out for 5 minutes, then brings it in, dry. Job done.
I find this timing completely baffling. It probably takes 5 minutes to fill my clothes line. For a good 30 minutes I will then enjoy the thought that the washing is done and it's flapping away on the line. Barring heavy rain there is no way I would return to bring the washing in for at least an hour.
Curious.
As, I suppose, is a picture of an anchor above a discussion about clothes lines.
