Watchful Eye

This blue heron was looking for breakfast at the pond next the Washington Memorial. I spotted him from the other side of the pond and s-l-o-w-l-y walked around so that I could get a better view. That 10 minute walk was well worth it as I was able to get within 15 feet of it. For once, the sun was at the right angle and I got quite a few nice pictures. Zoom in if you like...

Today is my first full day off in weeks and am just going to take it easy... I'll have to work Monday and Tuesday and then I'll have 5 days off. I cannot wait!
