Passing Shot
When guarding trains the best photo opportunities come at the crossing places. Another blip from Quarry Siding, this time showing the approaching token exchange. Out of shot, Tilda has a green Aber-Quarry token in her left hand. She will pass this to Eric as she takes the blue Quarry-Brynglas token from him, allowing us to continue our trip down the line.
A gentle days guarding, sheep related delays apart. Working with an excellent seventeen year old assistant, I found him thinking ahead so well he was almost always ahead of me! No surprise. He's forty years younger and being a local is very well practiced.
A really lovely meal tonight with old friends. Chatter aplenty on railway matters as L approaches her assessment for guard duties this week. Like I did, she is returning after a long break looking after a growing family. Older, wiser and maybe a little slower - in my case at least - we've still got a lot to offer :-)
