Baby squirrel

The best thing about my day was seeing this little chap, though it was a bit sad as he must have fallen out of the tree.  He was calling and wobbling along the ground.  When he found me he  made a purring sound and tried to climb up my leg (see extra).  The dog was absolutely transfixed.  Up in the tree above was another baby scrabbling around in the branches looking as if it would fall at any minute, it didn't even seem to have it's eyes open 

I put this one back at the foot of a tree and left hoping that the mum would come back soon.  I'm not sure what she can do  to rescue her wayward babies and this one is very vulnerable on the ground.
