A log with a .....

..... difference!!

Went to Sheffield Park East Sussex UK. today with a GREAT struggle I managed to walk ( stumble ) round the lake . It would have been such a shame to waste a day like today absolutely lovely temperature to walk in. We passed this sculpture , strange but just wonderful ( especially for Sunday ) . This was done by grafting branches from various trees onto this Himalayan Cedar which had been planted in1976 and died in 2016 . But when trees die the trunk then becomes what is known as a " log nurse", rather charming name I think.
It just proves that nature renews itself ie dies / renews life/ produces young .
This was sculpted by Gabriela Albergaria commissioned at Diep Haven in conjunction with Sheffield Park.
Not only a great afternoon but with interest too.
The congregation had to smile this morning when during the sermon we were reminded about the lion in Aslam ( The lion the witch and the wardrobe by C S Lewis ) when he said the work has been done now for the holiday but now for us it's the reverse as the holiday is over work must begin.
Hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend.

Grateful ..... to see the revival of new live in the form of a log.
