Cathedral of hope

Today we travelled home from Ludlow via Coventry to see the cathedral . Number 9 on our list. I confess I had goosebumps inside. It is glorious. From the devastating bombing of 1940 comes this stunning building. The ruined cathedral has been sympathetically preserved as a space of light and reflection, and next door is this modern brutal beauty. Every corner contains symbols of hope and reconciliation. Well worth the trip. Home now and preparing for back to work tomorrow. It’s been a lovely break.
