Zurich Day 1
We had a long breakfast in the hope and mild expectation our luggage might arrive. To no avail. We decided to take a walk down to the lake, while there we saw there was a lake cruise about to leave, and it would take about an hour. So we decided it would be a good way to await the arrival of our luggage. After the cruise and returning to the hotel we were told the luggage had a arrived a few minutes before our return. With much relief we changed into fresh clothes.
In the afternoon we had booked a walking tour around the old town. A good tour and an interesting guide. While on the tour the sky was clouding over. Not too much later it started to rain. We had dinner at a nearby bistro type cafe. It turned out to be part of a five star hotel with prices to match. Dinner was nice though, so I suppose it was worth it.
Before returning to the hotel we stopped in a wine bar. I ordered a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc which was also very nice, but was again very, very expensive. While we were in the wine bar a thunder storm passed over accompanied by heavy rain. Luckily we were still close to our hotel so were able to return without getting too wet.
We ate well this evening, and had some nice wine, tomorrow we should try to do so a bit less expensively!
