Glacial Lake
Lost track of what day I'm on!
Short minibus journey down into the valley, across the main road and partway up the other side and through woods to this beautiful lake. A break to savour the view and photgraph darters (see extra), before down and up to another lake and more up past spectacular masses of flowers - yellow, blue and pink mainly.
A longish high level walk through pastures and a long lunch break on the col before descending to the valley. We were just about down when an elderly man with 2 sticks came out of his house and started shouting at the vanguard. We were now in Montenegro and our main guide didn't speak the local language but our other guide did so he went down and talked to the man and money changed hands before we were allowed past - but not in a straight line across his field.
As we were going on a young women came past smiling, we thought she might be his granddaughter and has to cope with this behaviour all the time! Another group wasn't far behind (it's a recognised long distance trail) and were also stopped, but more quietly and we don't know if they had to pay a "toll" as well. A couple on teh track were watching the entertainment.
A lovely guesthouse where they spoke various languages (the owner is German) and the 11yr old daughter spoke at least 3.
"Lemonade" made form pine nuts and homemade raki - the latter only taken from politeness.
As for several nights men and women had separate sleeping quarters but I still had to share a (large) bed with my friend
