Tea time
James left bright and early this morning to visit a friend in Brighton. Me and the kiddies took it easy and waited for G&G to come over. Grandad mowed the lawn for us (yay!) and then we went into the village. The kiddies have completed week 5 of the library reading challenge and we also finished the treasure hunt. It was hard and has taken all summer!
Phoebe asked if we could have a subway for lunch and eat it in the park. The weather has been wonderfully hot and sunny again so it sounded like a great idea.
This afternoon Phoebe set about cooking tea. A recipe in her cookbook had caught her eye. Sweetheart quiche. It was really easy to make and Phoebe got stuck in with the pastry. We also made some potato salad to go with it and it was delicious! She’s quite the chef. As it’s the last weekend of the holidays I let the kiddies stay up late so after tea they got their PJ’s on and we watched a film whilst tucking into raspberry trifle.
