The rise, fall and resurrection of our wall
Master Mason "I've been on a two day French wall building course and know it all" Tricia at work. An evolution of our strategy is now in place.
I ("You only did a one day course in the Hebrides so know nothing") do the donkey work and put the big stones in place and then Tricia fiddles about trying to fix things in place. So far so good.
The roofer who did our roof came around to give us a quote for the roof that he didn't do. I though he would just get the tape measure out and size things up but no, he hopped up onto the roof and spent half an hour clambering about up there - even fixing some of the more obvious holes. We await the quote with some trepidation - with over two hundred square metres of roof, one imagines it won't be that cheap.
Then to the bar in the evening for a meal with other English friends, C&F, who live close-by. Great to see the bar full and that we knew most of those eating. Good food as ever and copious wine, wine that, whilst it wouldn't travel, seemed right for the moment.
