Busy morning sorting out the fallout from last night. We went down the rabbit hole of suspecting broken hardware. In the end it turned out we forgot to bless the fileserver. In our defence we don't usually do this step. Really need to get cracking with using redundant frontend servers.

Spent the evening soldering (see extra). Tried out the amp and initially got it to work. Needs some more prodding though.
