A productive day

We return from our trip into Victoria with a shopping list worth of supplies and 14 pieces of cedar lumber for more deck repairs.
Waiting for the water taxi on the Government Dock at Barnacle road, we spend a few minutes, reading, contemplating the views or monitoring Richard Black’s ongoing maritime restoration project: an old Canadian Navy troop carrier you can see in the background.
After a forthright discussion with one of our neighbours about dock access, the day ends with sightings of a drifter pod of orcas, some dolphins and a couple of seals hugging the beach, clearly in predator avoidance mode.
