The Power of the Sunflower

Why do we all love sunflowers?
Let me think on that a while.
Why do they make us turn our heads?
Why do they make us smile?

Perhaps it's because they're humongous,
with that droopy old big head.
How do they even stay upright...
and not drop to the ground instead?

Maybe it's because all the animals,
flock to them for seed.
As soon as the seeds are available...
it's like a creature stampede.

I do extol its virtues,
they make us smiley and mellow.
And as long as we're on the subject...
it's my favorite Nature yellow.
