A postcard...

From the Cotswolds.

I had a day with Lucy exploring the Cotswolds. We met in Burford Garden Centre, an amazing place with old cars, carriages and carts dotted around. We had a drink and cake before we wandered. Then into Burford itself, a quintessential Cotswold town. Off to visit a few villages, some prettier than others, stopping at this little church to see its RAF window...but it was closed. It did have a lovely view though. Then we were hungry. We picked up Lucy’s car (left at the garden centre) and went to a lovely pub (can’t remember where) but they had stopped serving food, it was about 3 o’clock. On to Lechlade, same problem. We had a tea and then decided to go on to Cirencester where we had more chance of a ‘chain’ restaurant being open. We had a lovely dinner at Cote but why do they serve your main so soon after your starter? To get more custom for sure but you really do need a break in between.

From there I headed home, an easy journey and home in just under 2 hours, enjoying a lovely sunset in my rear view mirror too. Maybe I’ll fit a camera to the car to take pics when you are unable to stop ;-D)))
