that Time of Year Again
We are in full flight juicing quite a large crop of apples. The apples themselves, no doubt due to the dry weather, are slightly smaller than usual, but are really tasty.
Although it is quite slow work, the juicing machine is like a very powerful mincer, and all the juice is extracted without fuss.
Here you see Ella loading up the machine. After the juice has been allowed to rest in the fridge overnight it is destined to become apple champagne sparkling apple wine, tomorrow.
In order to be politically correct one is no longer supposed to use the word "Champagne" unless it relates to a certain wine growing region in France.
Such impediments however, will not stand in my way in producing a brew
that is rather more cost effective than the French version!
