Evening's Entertainment
After my Swedish class I met up with my mum to go to a wonderful late concert given by the Edinburgh Quartet in one of the Student Union bars in Edinburgh University. Despite being in a bar, the packed audience was remarkably attentive. On the programme were Benjamin Britten's Three Divertimenti and Frank Bridge's Three Idylls, interspersed with shorter pieces by John McEwen, who apparently has 17 string quartets to his name. One to look out for on future Edinburgh Quartet programmes, I think.
