Deer family

We had seven of the deer in the yard this afternoon, two fawns who are really starting to lose their spots, two does and three buck.   I was surprised to see that one of the bucks/stag had already rubbed the "velvet" off his antlers.   You can see the white color here next to the other deer who still has his velvet.


A sure sign of a change in the weather pattern.   Of course, the weather person is not agreeing..the heat index for the next two or three days is over 100F.   Summer's last gasp..I hope.   I am so ready for fall.
