The rowan tree
A late start to the day, partly due to the fact that we were both woken with a start before 5.00am by a loud noise - it sounded like something crashing into the glass door of the wardrobe, causing it to vibrate violently. But exactly what it was, neither of us has the foggiest idea! After that, we both dozed until the alarm went off, then promptly fell in to a deep sleep...
Spent most of the day in front of the computer, and managed to complete quite a few little jobs. Late afternoon we decided to go for a local walk to make the most of the continuing good weather. Up through Humbleton and over to Wooler Common, sitting for a while on the bench just past the highest point to admire the view. To our right, Hedgehope Hill and the Cheviot and, straight ahead, this view across the valley to Wooler Common Farm. Difficult to see in the Blip, but the rowan tree is full of red berries. Walking back through Wooler Common, four red squirrels spotted.
