11 Swans a Swimming
After feeding this morning the swans swam off into the sun as you can (just) see here. If you count carefully there are 1. Yes 11! The swan and pen with the now huge 8 cygnets. At the head of them is last year's juvenile who came to the feeding station with the mother swan.
He did hang around the edges a bit and as they came to leave there was a half hearted chase from the dad but this is the first time we have seen them together since before this brood of cygnets were born.
Though not the clearest picture taken today I liked the morning light got on the water and the fact that all 11 swans are on it.
It was a lovely morning if a slightly chilly start and there were masses of water birds at the feeding station. We passed and fed the three goslings, which are now nearly fully grown, at the other side of the pond. Lots of juvenile ducks, Coots and the Tufted ducklings now also nearly fully grown. Two Moorhens and a noisy bunch of gulls added to the cacophony.
As I won't be seeing them for a few weeks I wanted to feature this super wildlife on today's blip.
