The Thermarest Band

A delightful day’s cycling, idling up the IJssel - firstly to Hattam for coffee and appeltaart and then a ferry across to a bakery in a windmill at Olst. We had been tempted off route to visit a microbrewery "Lobster Palace" with excellent food reviews on google maps. Arriving at a small house, the neighbour gaffawed his commiserations. A hoax, for a joke, one understands. Those crazy Dutch.
So, to Deventer, a lovely place, and another place associated with the Hanseatic League, which is a maist interesting period and which I knew very little about. Before noo!
There are also some seriously excellent bars - and a fabulous brewery - DAVO Bieren Stadsbrouwerij & Proeflokaal, with food. And it wasn’t a hoax. I distinctly remember it.
