Origami Lily

Natasha's birthday isn't until Tuesday, but she is off to Moscow tomorrow so I dropped her presents round today, and made a little origami lily to sit on top of the pile of presents as I handed them to her. It reminded me of the time I decided to make everyone 3 origami lilies to go on top of their Christmas presents, from the same wrapping I had used to wrap them in (meaning I had to cut perfect squares). This was about 10 years ago and there were 5 or 6 people that I was going to be spending Christmas day with. It took me hours, and I remember sitting up in bed on Christmas eve, trying to finish them all and cursing myself for having such a stupid idea. Everyone loved them though, and my Aunt collected them all up (even those belonging to people who wanted to keep them), and made a lovely table centre from them. I might start making some more for this Christmas now, and out of pre-cut paper this time!
