The Spirit of the Boardman Tasker Award

This is Jim Curran, mountaineer, writer, film-maker, artist who has been short-listed for the Boardman Tasker Award 6 times. This was set up 30 years ago, in memory of my first husband, Peter, and his friend Joe. Unfortunately Jim did not win yet again which is so sad as he doesn't think he has another book in him. But there he was, large as life, making us all laugh with his anecdotes. He is a wonderful writer: serious, funny, artistic in his depiction of the mountain experience. If you want a beautiful book, it is called, "Here, There and Everywhere".

The winner was Andy Kirkpatrick's "Cold Wars", a fantastic read too by a dyslexic stand-up climbing comedian.
