Inspirational Sightseeing

Very successful day of Barcelona sightseeing on an eBikes Gaudi tour. Fabulous way to cover a lot of ground and our lovely guide, Marcel, gave great background and information on both the history and culture of Barcelona as well as the expected Gaudi highlights. As well as pointing out where George Lucas got the inspiration for the Storm Troopers and Darth Vader.

Late lunch of some traditional Catalan dishes at the 4 Cats in the Gothic Quarter. Famed for being the home of Picasso’s first ever exhibition. Though we were both a little more excited by the picture of Scarlet Johansson dining there on the wall.

Wander back to the hotel for a little siesta before deciding to walk up to Park Güell for the sunset. Unfortunately we got there too late to go inside but it was a good walk and nice to see more of the town and we got a sense of the park from the perimeter. Would definitely go inside another time. Such a steep walk up there was an escalator at one point so we treated ourselves to a taxi back to the hotel and had another lovely room service and movie night. Had forgotten quite how realistically gory Hot Fuzz is but Anna didn’t seem to mind and it is distractingly funny....just hope she doesn’t have nightmares....
