Burghley house

I fancied a walk off the fens so we headed to Stamford and walked around the grounds of Burghley house.  Unfortunately, the preparations for the horse trials meant that a lot of the grounds were inaccessible but we stumbled upon the Food Fair which was interesting. I came away with a sheep's cheese and a single macaron which was a delicious accompaniment to morning coffee and just as good as any I have had in France.
