The House of the Birds, Alexandria

After a lovely breakfast chatting to the newly marrieds my colleague from yesterday arrived unexpectedly early suggesting we go get felafel, foul and coffee. A good plan, and as he’s a fluent Arabic speaker, I knew I was in safe hands. We had a nice time wandering around Alexandria, including a refreshing walk along the Corniche. I’ve been enjoying walking outdoors, something which isn’t possible at this time of year in Kuwait. He then suggested we go to the Roman ruins in the city centre, and what a good idea that was. Fascinating - remains of lecture theatres, hot baths and houses, which is where the image comes from.

It was then a 45 minute drive to the villa for a pool party to celebrate the wedding. It was a great way to celebrate.
