Flamenco

Tonight we went to the CD launch of the Latin American band, Pukara, and I decided to try out my new camera under concert conditions - low light, musicians moving about, no flash allowed, etc. I wasn't really expecting anything much, just hoping to have a bit of a play with the camera, try a few different settings to see how effective they were. I was pleasantly surprised by the results - several of them were quite creditable and 2 or 3 would be blippable.

I was especially trying to get a musician or group of musicians focussed on their playing, and in focus, but to also capture the sense of movement in their playing. Oh yes and for it to be a decent composition as well. This is the image that achieved all of those for me. It is guest musician Jorge Campano, a most excellent guitarist and singer from Granada, and well-known in Sydney. His playing bowled me over btw, and you can listen to some of it here.

Still playing with various automatic options, especially under such conditions, on this occasion I used Scene mode on the Indoor Party setting, and it needed absolutely no editing afterwards, so I am a very Happy Blipper tonight.
