Its a bear made from artificial grass

Its been a cold rainy day today - not what you want for a Bank Hol weekend.  I would probably have stayed indoors all day but there was a match to go to.  Newcastle v Chelsea - kick off 4pm.

On my way to the match I pass by Greys Monument and go along Blackett Street and this is where I took my blip shots.  For 6 weekends over the summer Blackett Street is transformed into a family friendly area.  From 2am on Saturdays until 10pm on Sundays the road is closed, covered in artificial grass and various activities take place.  Sometimes there's a fairground or giant games.  Today there were stalls selling food and deck chairs.  The food was popular - but due to the nasty weather there were no takers for the deck chairs.

The match was boring to start with and then the pace picked up.  Newcastle gave away a penalty. Then they scored an equaliser.  However Chelsea scored again ( it was actually an own goal by a Newcastle player ! ) and the final score was Newcastle 1  Chelsea 2.  A very disappointing result.
