Behind Candlemaker Row

Struck me a quite odd but strangely cool how the buildings of Candlemaker Row back right onto Greyfriars - the gravestones are actually up against the walls. From some of the windows you can even see all the way through the room and out of the other window to the street - not that I was squinting into folks houses...at least, not on purpose! (that would have been a cool blip, but seemed a tad invasive!) They are really great buildings too - thankfully not lost in the 19th and early 20th century like half of the Grassmarket.

It may not be a great shot but I quite like it - its a real history of Edinburgh blip, and you can see lots of chimneys which is always good in my book :O)

Jess and I went on a bit of a wander through the old town this afternoon which is always lovely. I took lots of pictures but typically the sun only came out towards the end, I was mostly too tired by then to bother! lol Nice walk though.
