Happy Day

We left home early in torrential rain for Gretna Green, where we were married in the Old Blacksmiths Shop at 11am. The weather brightened up for the wedding, but the temperature still hovered around 10 degrees, half of what it was recently. The ceremony was conducted beautifully - one of the witnesses had herself been married in the same room 23 years ago. 

We met a few friends for afternoon drinks in Grange over Sands, and had a wonderful 17-course tasting dinner at L'Enclume (The Anvil) in Cartmel. Stayed in L'Enclume overnight as well, which was a glorious touch of luxury. 

The day was so busy, despite taking our many cards and presents down with us, we didn't have time to open any, so that'll be the task tomorrow!

Thank you all for so many best wishes over the past few days. We had simply the most wonderful day, and couldn't be happier.
