Life through my eyes

Cracking Day Out, Lad!

A days holiday for me as I have use my Annual Leave carried over from last year (our holiday year is July to June - silly, and a long story).

We had decided we wanted to do the West Trail as there were some Gromits with very iconic Bristol backdrops.  We got an early bus into Bristol as we didn't know how long it would take us as it needed multiple bus journeys.

In the main collage there is The Howl, Feathers Macaw, A Grand Complication, Wallace in Wonderland, Light as a Feather, The Wendsleydale Kid, ThermoGromit, The Bristol Hound, Feathers McGraw.

In my extra is the Clifton Suspension Bridge (which got my third BBC Weather Watcher's Editor's Pick, and the second one on the tele this week), the view to the Portway and the Cumberland Basin (the Portway seems to be closed at a greater frequency these days due to welfare concerns for people on the bridge, there are even Samaritans signs on the bridge), Gromit number 10 on the trail - Stellar, and a mirror maze at the Mall Gardens.

This was the first time we have done a whole trail in a day and it was nice to get home and have a hot bath!  Gromit said he was also tired and perhaps deserved a bath, until he was reminded he had complained about getting his feet wet in the tea cup of The Wendsleydale Kid.  Mr T told him he hadn't done so bad just to have one shower of rain in all the Gromit hunting!

We really enjoyed this trail as the scenery was very pleasant.  Mr T has especially enjoyed it and it has taken us so many places we had never been, some we had driven through or by, but exploring by foot is so much different and we have walked miles!  Plus all have been done by bus.  Annoyingly one Gromit is not on a bus route and the the last few trials are less accessible by bus for us.  We have now done 49 out of 67!  Way more than we expected at the start.
