A good friend, in Zamalek, Cairo

I flew into Cairo tonight for a friend’s wedding in Alexandria tomorrow night. Long story why I didn’t go direct..

Anyway, lovely to catch up with my good friend Mahmoud after I got in. Enjoyed walking in the (comparatively) cool air - summer nights in Cairo are nice - chatting and catching up. More on the weekend.

The Flamenco Hotel upgraded my room as I wanted a late check out. Side Nile view room - the busy side... lots of traffic noise. Oh well..

It’s good to be back, it feels oh so normal. So normal I almost forgot to take in my surroundings on the Taxi ride in.
