Four Generations

This is our second day in North Wales. We are staying with my brother and his family for two nights so that we can visit. They haven't seen Noah in a month and he's changing SO quickly, I really want them to see him this young. The other big reason we're here is to see my Nain (welsh word for Grandmother). She hasn't been well recently and with my mother being poorly with a seriously damaged knee she hasn't been able to do the 4 hour drive it takes to get her. Mam is due to have a second replacement knee any day now (the other knee, not the same one twice) and so she wanted to see her mother.

I haven't ever really known my grandmother. It's not something I'm sad about - how can you miss something you never had? I don't feel a bond with her but I'm glad we have brought the baby to meet her. I don't mean to sound cruel when I talk about her, but she just isn't part of my life. We haven't seen her much in the past few years, in fact I think since I was 8 I have seen her 5 times - today, my sisters funeral, my wedding, we visited once and she visited once.

However, here we are, 4 generations. There's a similar photo of a few generations with me as the baby. I'm glad we've got it, it's not often you can put a family member from 4 generations in a room together. It'll be nice to keep! I'll also send her a copy I think :)
