227/365 The Watertower

The water tower was build in 1932 to feed the Bath Road Reservoir and local properties on higher ground.  The reservoir, which dated back to 1850, is now a housing development, but also contains a wildlife reserve, due to persistent demonstrations by local wildlife groups. 

The water can be seen from the M4 motorway as you approach jct 12, a welcome sight when travelling home from a long journey.
