PEACOCK AT CASTLE DUIVENVOORDE
For us this was a remarkable day.
With the lightrail we travelled to Voorburg, where we could, even if only for less than an hour, visit old dear friends. We had not seen them since such a long time, and now since some weeks a chemo treatment was started following a diagnosis of cancer on our woman friend. And it will be a long traject before surgery will be an option, if all goes well. Which we dearly hope for her.
Full of emotions we left, and promised to visit them again in October when we will back in The Hague again.
Then we walked to other friends who live in Voorburg, drank coffee outside in their beautiful garden, had lunch, after that we drove to the park of castle Duivenvoorde, near Voorschoten.
The weather was so beautiful, we strolled on all the paths, saw the outside of the castle, the ponds with pink waterlilies, and after that we drank tea at the terrace nearby.
And there the peacock appeared. I could give him my cookie which I suspected would not be vegan.
It was only after six o'clock when we reached home again.
The peacock did no wild things, but I tag him anyway for the Wild Wednesday Challenge. With many thanks to Cailleach for hosting.
