Reflective water before the fall ...

Yesterday I was up in the treetops, today I'm as far down as you can go.

Following the Ice Age, glaciers melted and formed many rivers and streams. The Ouseburn was one of those streams, and now forms a great part of the Dene. The Ouseburn, on its journey to the River Tyne, forged a gouged deep valley which now forms the Dene. The Jesmond Dene Waterfall, as featured in my blip of the day, was constructed in the late 1800s by the then Lord Armstrong to provide more picturesque views.
