Tree Lines

It was gorgeous weather this morning, bright autumn sunshine and fairly temperatures. I spotted this small wood where the there was really nice side-lighting on the trees and thought I would have a go a creating this impressionist woodland. In the old days it used to be done with vaseline on a clear filter but most people nowadays create it by choosing a longish exposure and panning upwards. Unfortunately even with my slowest film speed 80 ASA I was only getting 1/10th second so I was having to pan upwards very quickly and had to experiment a lot to get reasonable shots. What helped though were the small saplings in the background as they added to the streaky effect.
